Synphase is a combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy and manage hormonal menstrual irregularities. It contains ethinylestradiol and norethisterone, two synthetic hormones that work together to provide effective contraception and cycle control. Synphase is known as a triphasic pill, with three varying hormone dose phases across the 21-day cycle.

How It Works
The hormones in Synphase prevent ovulation (the release of an egg) and cause changes to the cervical mucus, making it more difficult for sperm to enter the uterus. Additionally, it alters the endometrial lining to make it less receptive to implantation. Its triphasic formulation is designed to better replicate the body’s natural hormonal rhythm by varying the progestogen dose during the cycle.

Why Choose Synphase
Synphase offers a more natural hormone cycle pattern compared to monophasic pills, potentially reducing hormonal side effects for some users. It may be particularly suitable for women who experience breakthrough bleeding on standard combined pills. The structured dosing schedule supports hormonal stability and effective cycle control while offering the same high level of contraceptive protection as other combined pills.

Important Note
This medication must be taken in the correct sequence to maintain contraceptive effectiveness. Delays or missed pills can reduce its reliability. It does not protect against sexually transmitted infections. Individuals with a history of blood clots, certain types of cancer, liver disease, or migraines with aura should not use Synphase. Medical review is recommended before starting.

Can Synphase help with menstrual problems?

Yes, Synphase may be prescribed to manage irregular or heavy periods, in addition to its contraceptive benefit.

Take one tablet daily for 21 days in order, following the colour-coded phases. Then have a 7-day break before starting the next pack.

Synphase contains a combination of norethisterone (a progestogen) and ethinylestradiol (an oestrogen) that prevent ovulation and alter cervical mucus and the womb lining.

Synphase is a combined oral contraceptive pill used to prevent pregnancy by regulating hormones involved in ovulation and the menstrual cycle.

Synphase is a triphasic pill, meaning it delivers different hormone levels at different points in the cycle to mimic natural hormone fluctuations.
